Mark Pachowicz graduated from the University of San Diego Law School In 1988. He was a member of the Moot Court trial team that went to the National Finals, and received a number of awards including the Bishop Buddy Trial Advocacy Award and the Criminal Defense Bar Association Award. Mr. Pachowicz also obtained his first Not Guilty verdict defending a client as a law student while working at the USD Legal Clinic.

Mr. Pachowicz joined the Ventura County District Attorney's office in 1988 and tried different types of crime including vehicular manslaughter, robbery, burglary, assault with deadly weapons and driving under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Pachowicz spent years prosecuting sexual assault crimes like rape and child molestation and domestic violence cases.

In 1993, Mr. Pachowicz joined Norman, Cormany, Hair and Compton, the largest law firm in Ventura County. There he worked on a variety of civil and criminal cases including a large and complex environmental matter on behalf of a publicly traded corporation.

In 1995, Mr. Pachowicz rejoined the Ventura County District Attorney and became a Senior Deputy District Attorney. As a Senior Deputy District Attorney, Mr. Pachowicz prosecuted rape, child molestation, and domestic violence cases as well as homicides, including a capital murder case. Mr. Pachowicz also prosecuted the most complex, lengthy, and significant investigation Ventura County has ever witnessed involving an entire gang.

In 2002, Mr. Pachowicz became a Senior Attorney for the Department of Child Support Services where he handled child support matters, including establishing paternity and child support investigations and calculations.

In May 2003, Mr. Pachowicz became the Executive Director of the largest labor union in Ventura County. Aside from running the day-to-day operations of the Union, Mr. Pachowicz handled contract negotiations, arbitrations, and other member representational issues. In addition, he conducted hearings before the Civil Service Commission of Ventura County.

Mr. Pachowicz is a Professor of Law at the Ventura College of Law, where he has taught Constitutional Criminal Procedure, Introduction to Law, Advanced Trial Practice, and Legal Analysis at various times. Mr. Pachowicz was named Professor of the Year three times by the Ventura College of Law Student Bar Association.
